Alphie Sutton Ramsey

Alphie Sutton Ramsey, 81, entered into heaven on June 22, 2023. She passed peacefully at her residence with her family by her side.

Alphie was born in Seven Springs, North Carolina on June 9, 1942 to the late Dulon and Ethel Jackson Sutton. She was also preceded in death by her son, Tony Owens and a brother-in-law, Billy Ray Herring.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery, and loved the children; she also worked on various committees. Alphie never met a stranger and she loved her church family dearly. She enjoyed cooking and canning.  Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her son and grandkids. Alphie worked as a dental assistance for over 47 wonderful years. She retired from Mt. Lake Island Dentistry, Dr Kevin Monroe office.

She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, Marshall Ramsey; her son, Andy Owens and daughter-in-law, Samantha Owens; her grandsons, Jordan Owens and Steven McQueen; seven great grandchildren, sister Faye S Herring of Supply, NC; brothers, Wayne and wife Beverly Sutton, Jerry and wife Grace Sutton, all of LaGrange, NC; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home on Sunday, June 25^th  from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. p.m. prior to the service at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Pastor Chris Doster officiating.

Interment will follow at Hollywood Cemetery with the releasing of the doves.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Brooks, Bryant Brack, Dean Bolick, T. Brack, Joe Creighton and Greg Bame.
