1938-2022
Gastonia – Sarah Ann Payne Hayes Biggerstaff, 83, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2022 at the Robin Johnson House.
She was born in Gaston County, NC on April 14, 1938 to the late Calvin Bert Payne and Velcie Whisenant Payne. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband Gaither Paul Hayes and her second husband Steve Biggerstaff, her children, Dianne H. Stiles, David Hayes, Debbie H, Rimmer and twin grandsons, Jeremy and Jonathan Rimmer; her siblings, Richard, Bobby, Ray, Calvin, Danny, Al, Edna Russell, Inez Payne and Dianne Payne
Ann retired from Wix after 23 dedicated years. She was the oldest member of Restoring Hope Foursquare Church. She enjoyed spending time with her Sonshine Ladies and with her sisters "Golden Girls" on Mondays and their many trips together. Ann enjoyed making cakes for her family and friends. She could make the BEST cream corn and her pickles was great also.
She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to many.
Left to cherish her memories include her beloved son, Dennis Paul Hayes, Sr and wife Robbie, sisters, Joyce Hoffman and Shirley McSwain, and brother, Reverend Don Payne ; special niece, Faye Simonds; and her foster daughter, Linda Teague; 10 Grandchildren, 15great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
A visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Restoring Hope Foursquare Church, 1026 Dallas Stanley Hwy., Dallas, NC 28034
Celebration of Life service will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Restoring Hope Foursquare Church with Pastor Cameron Bryson officiating.
Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054
