Barbara Foster Helton

Barbara Foster Helton, 86, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Gaston County, North Carolina, on April 13, 1939 to the late Fred and Annie Foster. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Helton; daughter, Carol Neal and son-in-law, Ralph Neal; her brothers, Horace and Marshall Foster; and her brother-in-law, Buzzie Merritt

Barbara was an accountant for Bell South for many years and also served as an accountant for her beloved church, Riverside Missionary Baptist Church in Cramerton. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and going to the beach. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Barbara also loved her dogs. She leaves many memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Stafford (Wade); sister, Peggy Merritt; granddaughter, Heather Huffman (Michael); and her great-grandchildren, Tucker Wade Huffman and Dutton Boone Huffman.

Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont, North Carolina, with Pastor Steve Hicks officiating.
