Barney Harrison Badger, Jr.

Barney Harrison Badger, Jr., 52, passed away peacefully at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, in Gastonia, on January 17, 2026 with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Gaston County on August 6, 1973 to the late Barney Harrison Badger, Sr. and Patsy McNichols Badger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Badger; and his furbabies, Ringo, Trigger, BammBamm, Gryphon, and Daisy Mae.

Barney was a jack-of-all-trades who was able to fix anything, wheather it be guns, cars, or machines, for himself or a friend. He enjoyed working on cars and was known to be meticulous about the repairs and cleaning them. Being meticulous and caring about every detail of what he did was something that spilled over into every part of his life, he was truly a caring person. Barney also enjoyed being outdoors fishing. He loved his family most of all, especially his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Brooke Badger; sister, Crystal Badger Waddell (Steve); sister-in-law, Jessie Reeves (Lee); brother-in-law, Ray (Amber); nieces, Chelsea, Amber (Billy), Erin (Seth), Brittany (Ray); nephews, Brian and Jordan; great-nephews, Eli and Aiden; great-nieces, Willow, Peyton, Ivy.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place the following day, Friday, January 23, at 12:00 pm in the chapel with Mr. Seth Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
