Gastonia – Rebecca Desiree "Becky" Curtis Pennington, 67, passed away on July 21, 2021, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on August 7, 1953, to the late Walter and Jerry Sandifer Curtis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Curtis. She worked as a fraud specialist at Bank of America for many years before retiring and serving in her most important "job" as Grammy. Becky enjoyed cooking for her family, and working in her flower garden. She loved all animals especially her cat Sid. Becky was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
Survivors include her children, Jason Pennington, Joshua (Mary) Pennington, and Desiree (Kevin) McLaughlin; her wonderful granddaughters whom she loved dearly, Rebekah Elizabeth and Mary Eleanor Pennington; brothers, Robert and Jerry Curtis.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 24th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
