Maiden – Bertha "Bert" McAllister Harbinson, 90, passed away on February 11, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lincoln County on April 24, 1930 to the late Horace and Ada Reep McAllister. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Yates Harbinson, Jr; sisters, Agnes Clark, Evelyn McAllister, Helen Langford, Dot Whitesides, Arzalee "Duck" Stroupe; brothers, John McAlister, R. L. McAllister, Paul McAllister, and Michael McAllister.
Bert was a dedicated member of St. Martins Lutheran Church in Maiden, NC. She spent many years working as a pattern designer in the textile industry.
Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters Gail Hefner and her husband Tim, and Cindy Lester; her brother Marshall McAllister and his wife Doris; sisters, Katie Sigmon, and Edith McAllister; grandchildren, Robert Hefner and his wife Lisa, Candall Hilton and her husband Matthew; great-grandchildren, Tyler Hart, McRee Hilton, and Jaxton Hilton. She is also survived by numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at the Maiden City Cemetery 211 East Cemetery Street in Maiden, NC. Pastor Nathan Yoder will be presiding.
Memorials may be made to St. Martins Lutheran Church P.O. Box 542 Maiden, NC.
