Dallas-Betty Lineberger Smith, 93, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023 with her family by her side.

Betty was born in Gaston County on August 11, 1929 to the late Russell and Addie  Marie Thornburg Lineberger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, of over 43 years, Gene Smith, who passed in 1996, her grandson, Micah Smith, brother, Joe Bill Lineberger and R.E. “Buck” Lineberger, and her sister, Virginia Welch

She was a lifelong member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed gardening and her passion was sewing. Most of all she loved spending the day shopping with her sister, Cloteen. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Betty is survived by her children, Kent Smith and wife Kathy, Mark Smith and wife Wanda, Tracey Busha and husband, Kenny; her wonderful grandchildren, Sara (Danny) Glenn, Dawn Blackmon, Garin Neese (Morgan Queen), Brittany (Michael) Sanders, Jonathan (Kasey) McCready; Eleven great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; and her sister Cloteen Rogers, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m., Sunday at Philadelphia Lutheran Church. The graveside service will follow at 3:30 in the church cemetery with Pastor Shea Berbaum officiating.

Pallbearers will be Danny Glenn, Garin Neese, Michael Sanders and Jonathan McCready.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Philadelphia Lutheran Church, 1910 Philadelphia Church Road, Dallas, NC  28034
