Betty Brewer Woody

Dallas - Betty Brewer Woody, 91, born on February 6, 1932, in Gaston County, left for her heavenly home on April 30, 2023. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children.

Betty was a devoted member of Community Baptist Church. She found immense peace and solace through her involvement in church activities. Betty is remembered by those who knew her as a warm-hearted person who had a positive outlook on life and enjoyed caring for the children. Betty worked at Mary Jo’s Cloth Store for over 30 years and loved every minute of it.

Betty leaves behind a legacy of love and affection through the memories cherished by her loved ones. She is survived by her daughter Paula W. Best (Darrell) of Dallas; her sons Bruce E. Woody (Merinda), Barry J. Woody; loving grandchildren Brett Woody (Karyn), Barrett Woody (Crystal), all of Hayesville, NC; her great-grandchildren Bronc, Brant, Brynlee, and Michael, all of Hayesville. Betty will always be known for being supportive and caring towards her family and friends.

Betty is predeceased by her Parents, W. Ellis Brewer and Ellen Victoria Auten Brewer and her beloved husband of 60 years, Paul Junior Woody; her siblings, Lula Summey, Addie Ballard, Bright Hurst, Virginia Paysour, Hazel Black, Mary Withers, Mollie Spivey, J.D., Paul, Bill, Ben, Adrian and Jack Brewer. 

Her Graveside Service will be held at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, located at 210 Long Creek Church Rd in Dallas on May 2nd at 3:00 pm with Pastor Matt Seagle officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Pallbearers will be her family.

Betty will always be remembered for the way she touched hearts with kindness; during this time of bereavement may we all remember Betty's role model qualities as a motherly figure to many family members and friends. Betty will be missed dearly by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
