Gastonia – Bobby Lee Harvell, 83, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Gaston County, born on November 14, 1937 to the late Earl and Bertha Lane Harvell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Harvell, and his brothers, Talmadge and Kenny Harvell.
Bob retired from Carolina Steel Rollers and had also worked at Nations Machine Shop. He worked and lived at Carothers Funeral Home with his family for several years He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing. He loved hanging out with his grandchildren and spending time with family.
Left to cherish his memories includes his wife of 63 years, Shelby Clemmer Harvell; his sons, Roger (Sharon) Harvell and Eric (Tammy) Harvell; his wonderful grandchildren, Monica, Austin and Jacob; his brothers, Boyce (Mary Ann) Harvell, Danny (Martha) Harvell; and his sister, Delphia Costner; Several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 25th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 26th at Hollywood Cemetery with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 2984, Gastonia, NC 28054
