Bobby Eugene O'Neal

Bobby Eugene O’Neal, 60, passed away on January 12, 2026 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in York, South Carolina on April 23, 1965 to Dorothy O’Neal and the late George Patrick O’Neal. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his son, Robbie O’Neal; daughter, Erica O’Neal; and nephew, Joshua Helms.

Bobby was a great mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He would always be there to help his friends and neighbors with any of their cars if they needed him. Bobby had a big heart and loved to make people laugh. Most of all, he loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Cortney O’Neal and Tasha O’Neal; mother, Dorothy O’Neal; siblings, Ricky O’Neal and Michelle O’Neal; sixteen grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Monday, January 19, 2026 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Harvey Cody officiating.
