Brenda Wood Davis

Gastonia – Brenda Wood Pace Davis, 79, passed away from a rare brain disease, Creutzfeldt Jakobs Disease, at her home on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 with her loving family by her side.  Brenda was born in Surry County, North Carolina on April 8, 1943 and is the daughter of the late Phola and Bonnie Gentry Wood.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and Granddaughter, Sarah Hope Pace.

Brenda is a graduate of Dallas High School, Class of 1962.  She was an employee of Belk’s in Gastonia and Warner Robins, Ga. in the Cosmetics Department and also as a Chiropractic Assistant in Warner Robins, Ga.  Brenda was a former member of Second Baptist Church, Warner Robins, Ga., where she was a 4^th Grade Sunday School Teacher and is a current member of Parkwood Baptist Church, Gastonia where she is a PCO Volunteer.

Brenda leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband, CMS (Retired USAF) Donald Reid Davis; three sons, Alan (Cathy) Pace of Harrisburg, NC, Darrell (Wendy) Pace of Clover, SC, Keith (Jennifer) Pace of Statesville, NC; step-daughter, Dawne (Mike) Townsend, Crawford, Ga.; 10 Grandchildren, Sam, Hillary (Mark), Claire, Reid, Chandler, Jensen, Kayla, Emily, Daniel (Stephanie), Lydia; one great Grandson, Luke;  one brother, Jack (Darlis) Wood of Charlotte; three sisters, Dorothy (Calvin) Coley, of Whittier, NC, Doris (Jim) Ross of Belmont, NC, Libby (Joel) Ammons of Gastonia, NC; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1729 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Parkwood Baptist Church with Pastor David Belle Isle officiating.

Interment will be private for the Family at Long Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery, Dallas.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Townsend, Sam Thomas, Reid Pace, David Ammons, Greg Kendrick, Michael Duckworth, and Ronnie Abernathy.

Special heartfelt thank you to the nurses at Gaston Hospice and CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
