Caleb Charles Payne

Caleb Charles Payne, 28 years old of Belmont NC passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2026 in Charlotte NC. Caleb was born on June 10,1997 in Charlotte NC to Erinn Barker and Brandon Payne and grew up in Indian Trail NC. Caleb graduated from Sun Valley High School in June 2015. Caleb enjoyed camping in the mountains, the beach, baseball, reading and playing chess as a child and teen. He was excellent at math, technology, an animal lover and especially enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature in his final days. He had one love with whom he shared his surviving son Dean Gabriel Payne who was born in 2018. Caleb is also survived by his mother Erinn Barker and stepfather David Barker along with siblings Trinity, Nicholas and Emma. His father Brandon Payne, stepmother Audrey Payne and siblings Greyson and Amelie. He is survived by Grandparents David and Dawn Smith, Don and Cindy Payne and Dana Butler, 6 Aunts, 6 Uncles, 18 cousins and a large extended family and friends who collectively raised, loved, encouraged and prayed for him until his final days. Caleb was reunited in heaven with many beloved family members preceding him in death.A Celebration of Life will take place in Belmont NC on June 7, 2026 from 11am to 1pm and a full announcement with event details will be shared soon.In lieu of flowers please join us in surrounding Dean Gabriel Payne with love and support.
