Dallas – Carolyn Travis Huggins, 79 passed away peacefully on November 20, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Catawba County, NC on February 8, 1941 to the late Alexander and Pauline Elizabeth Cranford Travis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah St. Laurent; son, Gerald Preast; and her brothers, Larry Travis and Dale Travis.

Carolyn was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church where she was a very active and faithful member for many years, serving on church council several years, past president of the Women's Group and served on many various committees through the years. She loved to sing and shared her gifts and talents by singing in the church choir for many years. She was very active in her community as well; volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Battered Women's Shelter and the Crisis Pregnancy Center. Carolyn worked in the banking industry throughout her lifetime. She retired from Bank of the Ozarks (formerly First National Bank) after 25 years of dedicated service. Carolyn was an active member of the Credit Professionals Association where she had developed many friends and traveled many places within the organization. She loved her family; she was known for hosting the family's holiday and birthday celebrations. Carolyn truly enjoyed entertaining any opportunity she could to treat her family and friends to weekly meals at their home. She passed down to her grandchildren the art of making her "homemade biscuits". Carolyn was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She always cared more for others before herself.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Allen Huggins; daughter, Elizabeth P. Watson (Peter); son, Steven Preast (Brenda); Robert Scott Huggins (Christi); and Jonthan Huggins; 16 grandchildren, Travis Preast, John H. Clemmer (Maria); William Clemmer, Caroline Clemmer Black (Seth); Zach Preast, (Valarie); Josh Preast, Seth Preast, Jacob St. Laurent (Jamie); Matthew Ritchie, Emily St. Laurent; Bailey, Jonah, Levi, Andrew, Jesse, and Cody Huggins, Michelle Justice, Chris Kelly, Bonnie Justice, Elizabeth and Justin Christopher; 7 great grandchildren; John Henry Clemmer, Jr., Natalie Clemmer, Lucille Black, Amelia Black, Kolson Preast, Audrey Weist and Isabella Weist; brother, Doug Travis (Linda); sister, Kathy Travis; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends who were like family.

A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, November 27th Holy Communion Lutheran Church Cemetery with Reverend Thomas Cogan officiating. Visitation will follow the Graveside Service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, protective mask and social distancing practices will be required. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
