Carolyn Shuford Manchoff

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Carolyn Manchoff on May 26th, 2025. She was surrounded in love at home with family by her side.

Carolyn was born in Gastonia, North Carolina in 1938 to Horace and Gladys Shuford. After graduating from high school, Carolyn and her parents moved to California where she later met her beloved husband, Mike Manchoff. They were married for 52 years and raised 4 beautiful daughters together in Burbank, California. Carolyn was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family.

Carolyn had a love for cooking and enjoyed visits to the farmers market with her daughters. She also loved flowers and drives on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Though Carolyn has departed from this world, her spirit, her laughter and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Michelle Romberger, Melissa Manchoff, Monica Watkins and Marla Darden; Son-in-Laws, Keith Romberger, Norman Watkins and Joel Darden; Grandchildren, Kielle Clendenin(Clay), Keaton Romberger, Connor Lobianco and Mason Darden; Great Grandchildren, Addisyn Romberger and Aubrie Clendenin; as well as numerous extended family members and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike; parents Horace and Gladys.

A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held on Saturday June 7th at 1:30pm at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia NC 28054. With Reverend Jason Darden officiating. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service. Graveside service to follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Keith Romberger, Norman Watkins, Joel Darden, Clay Clendenin, Keaton Romberger, Connor Lobianco and Mason Darden.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of flowers and plants or contributions to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Shiner’s Hospital for Children.
