Catherine Mae Medlin Falls

Catherine Mae Medlin Falls, 71, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024 at her residence in Bessemer City. 

 

She was born in Gaston County, North Carolina on February 16, 1952 to the late Alton Medlin and Ruth Liles Holland. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie Falls and her brother, Danny Medlin, Sr. and his wife, Jeannette. 

 

Catherine was a member of 7th Avenue Baptist Church and president of Old Stone Bank in Asheville and later retired from BB&T Bank  after many years. She enjoyed being in the mountains and lived her life to the fullest. Catherine was known to sleep late and was never on time but was always the life of the party. She loved her dogs, Penny, Maggie, Banjo, and Buddy. Catherine leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her. 

 

She is survived by her brothers, Mike Medlin (Brenda) and Tim Medlin (Vickie); caregiver, Danny Medlin, Jr. and Tammy Bentley; and her numerous nieces and nephews. 

 

Family and friends will gather for a Visitation at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024 followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of Gaston County.
