Catherine "Kitty" Rowan Brackins

Catherine Louella Rowan Brackins (Kitty) Went to meet her Heavenly Father on June 18, 2026, at the age of 96 years and 5 months. She was living at Forest Ridge Senior Living in Woodland Park, Colorado. She succumbed to death from complications of a stroke in September 2025.

Kitty was born on January 19, 1930, in Beverly, West Virginia to the parents of Hoddie Judston Rowan and Virginia Catherine Sturm Rowan.

Kitty was Valedictorian of her high school class of 12 in Coalton, WV. She worked for Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company in Elkins, West Virginia for 6 years. She then moved to Melbourne, Florida and worked for Southern Bell Telephone Company for 34 years. She retired in 1982 with 40 years of service. She met and married Clarence Woodward (Joe) Brackins on December 31, 1966, and they lived in Satellite Beach, Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe of 43 years. Joe passed on June 3, 2009. She is survived by Jeffery Mark Brackins, Alice Dawn Brackins Combs, Vicki Lynn Brackins also two sisters Wilma Joan Rowan O’Hara of Satellite Beach, Florida and Arlene Grace Rowan Teel of Woodland Park, Colorado.

Grave Side services are Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11:00am at Evergreen Cemetery “A Quiet Place” 1462 Armstrong Ford Road Belmont, North Carolina 28012
