Bessemer City – Cathy McDonald Sanders, 55 passed away on October 11, 2020 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center
She was born in Gaston County, NC on October 16, 1964 to Glenda Ann Wall McDonald and the late Edward W. McDonald, Sr.; she was also preceded in death by her grandson Nathan Sanders and a brother Edward "Eddie" McDonald, Jr.
Cathy loved her grandbabies and her family. She was a very loving companion, mother and grandmother. She always cared more for others before herself. She was a beach lover and enjoyed her trips to the mountains. Cathy loved all music especially Stevie Nicks.

Cathy is survived by her life partner of over 30 years O'Jay Schaller; her mother, Glenda McDonald; sons; Steven (Ashley) Sanders, William (Courtney) Trull and Michael (LaCole) Schaller; grandchildren Corey, Chase, Bentlee, Cole, Chase, Karlee, James, Emily, Zoey and Katlynn; sisters, Robin Caldwell, Renee McDonald, Susan Center and Ginger Talford;
brothers, Everett and Matthew McDonald.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 16th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Sparks officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:30 prior to the service
Interment will be Lakeview Memory Gardens, 1774 Filbert Highway, York South Carolina with the releasing of the doves.
Memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation.
