Charles Philip Murcha, Jr.

Charles Philip Murcha Jr., 77, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Manhattan, New York, on November 16, 1946 to the late Charles Sr. and Irma Murcha. 

After high school Charles was drafted into the Army and served two years in Vietnam. Charles worked for the department of sanitation for the City of New York and spent the rest of his career as a certified watchmaker. He loved his family most of all and was a devoted husband and father. Charles leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jennette Drapala Murcha; children, Charles Philip Murcha, III, Steven Murcha (Crystal), and Kathy Petrellese (Joe, Jr.); grandchildren, Charles P. Murcha, IV, Holly Murcha, and Joey Petrellese, III; and his great-granddaughter, Lyla Murcha. 

Family and friends will gather from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel with Deacon Chip Wilson officiating.
