Cynthia Gillikin Dodge

Cynthia "Memaw" Gillikin Dodge, 80, was reunited with the love of her life in her final resting place in heaven on Thursday April 21, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Cynthia was born to Elmer and Lela Gillikin on September 24, 1941 in Williston North Carolina. She was raised in the small down east town with her four siblings until she was swept off of her feet by a Marine from Nebraska at the age of 18 and were married on October 2, 1959.

Cynthia was a loving wife for over sixty years. A mother to six children that she raised along with several grandchildren along with fostering many. She had a love for Jesus witnessing everywhere she went to whomever would listen. She is nothing short of a legacy and a perfect symbol of what a mother should be.

She leaves behind their six children, twelve grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren to cherish her memories.

The family will receive friends at First Freewill Baptist Church 2316 Union Road, Gastonia, North Carolina on Tuesday April 26, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Darin Gibbs officiating.

Interment will be private.
