Belmont - Daniel Lee Ward, 79 - went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 31, 2021, at the Robin Johnson House.
He was born in Gastonia, North Carolina on November 6, 1941, to the late John Hamilton Ward and Ina Pearl Creasman Ward. Daniel was a dedicated member of East Belmont Church of God and later Lowell Church of God. He was a devoted husband and father. Daniel worked in the church bus ministry, Sunday school teacher, and youth director at the South Gastonia Church of God. A devoted Christian, he was also a witness of Jesus Christ and a servant. Daniel was a graduate of Ashley High School and attended CPCC. He was a US Air Force Veteran and president of the Sherwood Youth Association here he was active in football, baseball, and basketball for fourteen years. He also attended the New York City Eyes for the Blind and the Augusta GA Blind Rehab Center. Daniel was also a sales representative for United Rentals Uniform Services and a representative for Car Dealerships of Gastonia, NC.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Ward (Gerri); sisters, JoAnn Diperi and Ruth Whitaker, and his brother-in-law, Bobby Denton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Ward; he is also survived by his children Janet Tudor (Jeff), John Ward (Lisa), Howard Ward (Kim), and Daniel Ward (Sherry); ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren that he adored and loved very much; and his sisters, Louise Denton and Mary Armstrong (Donald).

A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 4th at Lowell Church of God, 804 W 1st Street, Lowell, NC 28098 with Pastor Joe Heffner, Pastor Roger Wentz, and Pastor Bobby Gilley officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Singing Tower section.
