Danny Ray Davis

Gastonia – Danny Ray Davis, 66 , passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023 at his residence with his loving wife by his side. 

He was born in Gaston County, on   September 14, 1956 to the late Boyce Benny Davis and Jane Smith Davis.

Danny retired in 2021 from Harris Teeter with over 30 years of dedicated service. He also ran his own business Down To Earth Landscaping.

Danny was a very dependable and reliable gentle soul. He would let everything roll off his back; he was a good listener and was known by his wife as keeping her grounded.

He was a loving husband, brother and friend to many that knew him. He enjoyed Monster trucks, tractor pulls and being outdoors working in the yard with his dog, Acer. Danny also enjoyed trips to the beach and spending time with his family.

Danny is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Teresa Gillespie Davis; his siblings, Roger Dale Davis (Phyllis), Lisa Ireta Davis, Boyce Duane Davis (Emily); several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12 Noon, Wednesday, February 15 at Calvary Baptist Church with A Celebration of Life service to follow at 12 Noon with Pastor Josh Glandon officiating.

 Interment will follow at Evergreen “A quiet Place”

Pallbearers will be Henry Gillespie, Jimmy Williams, Josh Gillespie, Seth Davis, Dale Davis and Lee Davis.
