Deborah Jackson Richardson, a cherished wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was marked by love, devotion, and unshakable faith, passed away suddenly on April 21, 2026, at her residence in Gaston County, North Carolina. Born on August 25, 1953, in the very same county where her journey began, Deborah’s life was a heartfelt testament to the power of family, faith, and passion.
Deborah dedicated much of her life working with an apparel company, where she found not only a career but a community and purpose. Beyond her professional life, she was deeply passionate about her church and showed a profound interest in the Bible, remaining a pillar of spiritual strength and inspiration to those who knew her.
Her proudest accomplishments were rooted in the time spent with loved ones. Deborah adored her grandchildren and cherished the simple, joyous moments spent together. Whether traveling to the beach or exploring the mountains, these family excursions filled her heart with happiness and created lifelong memories treasured by all who shared in her world.
Deborah’s personality shone brightly through her roles as a devoted wife and a nurturing mother. She was a guiding light, a source of warmth and unwavering love. Her sons Brian Richardson (Alejandra) and Sammy Dwayne Richardson, both of Dallas, carry forward her legacy of kindness and commitment. She also leaves behind beloved grandchildren—Collin Richardson, Allison Sofia Richardson, Beth Richardson, and Paige Richardson—each a precious part of her enduring spirit. Deborah’s family circle is further enriched by her brother Tony Jackson (Jennifer), sisters Annette Cloninger and Sheila Helms, and her mother-in-law Mabel Williamson, all of whom will deeply feel the absence of her loving presence.
Deborah’s life was also marked by loss. She now reunites in spirit with her late parents, William Calvin Jackson and Catherine Hazel Howell Jackson; her beloved husband, Samuel Richardson; and her sons, Kenneth Clark and Jerry Clark, whose memories remain forever in the hearts of the family.
Services commemorating Deborah’s remarkable life will begin with a visitation on April 28, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation, located at 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC 28054
