Donald Lamar Hyde

Donald Lamar Hyde, 65, passed away on August 6, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Robbinsville, North Carolina, on December 25, 1959 to the late Reid and Dorothy Hyde. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Dawn Hyde; brother, Ronnie Hyde; and father-in-law, Bill Costner.

Donald was a hard worker and was very hands on. He liked to work on motorcycles, especially Harley Davidsons. He was a major sports fan and enjoyed watching baseball and football, and was a Green Bay Packers fan. Most of all, he loved his family and leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Lisa Costner Hyde; son, Brent Hyde; sister, Karen Felton;  brother-in-law, Barry Costner; sister-in-law, Teresa Costner; granddaughter, Baleigh Robinson; mother-in-law, Frances Coster; niece, Joy Lee; and many great nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor William Calvert officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
