Donald Truett Ramsey

Dallas- Donald Truett Ramsey, Sr., 87 went home to be with his Lord and Savior on September 5, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Dallas, North Carolina on May 3, 1935 to the late Claude and Sudie Bumgardner Ramsey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Audrey Shumake Ramsey; his siblings, Mozelle Hedgepath, Inez Meadows, Margie Trantham, Lois Neal, Clyde Ramsey, Floyd Ramsey, Vernon Ramsey, and J.W. Ramsey.

He enjoyed camping at the mountains, the beach, and traveling with family. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping others, and making people laugh. He also enjoyed woodworking, making bird feeders, bird houses, and sea shell wind chimes. Truett also enjoyed baking, and BBQ’s. Truett was a member of the Restoring Hope Foursquare.

Left to cherish Truett’s memory are his children, Donnie Ramsey of Dallas, Randy Ramsey of Lincolnton, Susan Spake of Lincolnton, Lisa Burgess and husband Jim of Dallas, and Misty Brown and husband Glenn of Conover; his grandchildren, Jessica Davidson (Brandon), Daniel Ramsey (Sarah), Alan and Alex Ramsey, Elizabeth Brewer, Donnie Stroud (Marybeth), Madison Spake, Holly Sutton (Mitch), Sarah Hanna, Sean and Taylor Burgess, Jessica and Tyler Brown, Weston and Jordan Beaver; and thirteen great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Melvis Nimmons; sisters-in-law, Pat Burtt and Ginger Winburn; his special nieces; and longtime friends Bill Whitesides and Ed Henkle.

The family will receive friends on Thursday September 8, 2022 from 6:00 until 7:30 p. m. at Restoring Hope Foursquare, 1026 Dallas Stanley Hwy. At other times his daughter Lisa Burgess will also receive friends at her home, 303 West Lewis Street, Dallas, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life service will be Friday, September 9, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Restoring Hope Foursquare Church with Pastor Cameron Bryson officiating. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park in the St. John II section.
