Dorothy Hyatt Robbins

Dallas – Dorothy “Candy” Hyatt Robbins, 74, passed away January 29, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

She was born in Gaston County on August 14, 1948 to the late Jesse and Jeanetter Hyatt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Patsy Moore.

Dorothy was a dedicated member of City Church in Gastonia where she was very active. She retired from GEMS after more than 18 years of service where she loved her job and her coworkers. She enjoyed playing bingo and vacationing in Pigeon Forge. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family, especially, her grandchildren. She leaves many happy memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lawson and husband Phillip; grandchildren, Jacob and Blake; and her nephews, nieces, and cousins.  

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday February 3, 2023 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Withers and Whisenant Chapel with Pastor Steve Black officiating.
