Edgar Truman Ramsey, 84, went home to be with the Lord on September 26, 2021. He was a native of Gaston County and was the son of the late Eugene Clyde Ramsey and Lottie Lail Ramsey.
Ed was born in Dallas, North Carolina in 1937 and graduated from Dallas High School. He later went to work for Harris Teeter Supermarkets as Store Manager for 30 years before retiring in 2000.
He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed wood working, bird watching and working in his garden. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all he met.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Carol Vann Ramsey. He is survived by one daughter, Marcia Ramsey Davis and husband Darren of Ridgeland, South Carolina; three sons, David Ramsey of Dallas, Tim Ramsey and wife Kristi of Kannapolis, Stephen Ramsey and wife Lori of Wesley Chapel; seven grandchildren, Ashley, Katie, Amy, Allison, David, Jr., Tyler and Connor and seventeen great grandchildren.
