Edith Pearson Battle

Edith Pearson Battle, 96, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2024 at Robin Johnson Hospice House with her loving family by her side. 

She was born Cleveland County on April 13, 1928 to the late Jappe and Ollie Pearson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Elizabeth Sprinkles; son Audney Champion; son in laws, Glenn Sprinkles, Gary G. Bowlin and Nicky Fleming.

Edith enjoyed crocheting, quilting, baking cakes, and working in the garden. Most of all, she loved her family. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her Daughters, Linda K. Bowlin, Carol Fleming, Diane Metcalf (Jerry Metcalf); Grandchildren, Penny Crane (Charlie Crane), Curtis Bingham (Jill Bingham), Aaron Bingham (Ashley Bingham), Crystal Stephens (Mark Stephens), Gary Bowlin (Caitlin Larson), Tonda Fleming, Kelly Rhyne, Tracy Waters (Gene); Great-Grandchildren, Constance Barregarye, Todd Crane, Dylan Bingham, Bryson Bingham, Madison Lowry, Mason Lowry, Adam Stephens (Kelly Stephens), Jessica Rhoads (Chandler Rhoads), Declan Larson, Lorelai Bowlin, Kelsi Williamson (John Williamson), Peyton Grant (Cameron Grant), Grayson Waters; Great Great Grandchildren, Caleb Barregarye, (Sarah Barregarye), Carson Barregarye (Michelle Sanders), August Stephens, Liam Williamson, Adleigh Williamson, Cooper Grant, Elliott Grant. 

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Thursday May 9, 2024 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. 2207 Flint Hill Church Road, Shelby, NC 28152, with Pastor Mike Criswell officiating.
