Gastonia – Ernest "Ernie" Harold Terry, 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 15, 2021, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Gaston County on July 1, 1956, to Jeanette Slagle Terry and the late Hillard Ernest Terry. Ernie retired from Firestone with over 27 years of dedicated service. He attended North Gaston Church of God. Ernie played the bass guitar and sang with the Terry Gospel Singers. He was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Martha Hoffman Terry; his children, Jerome and wife Susan Terry, Cynthia and husband Reverend Derek Parker; one amazing wonderful granddaughter Annika Parker; his siblings, Eddie Terry, Kay Matheney and husband Harry, Mary and husband Chip Howell, Paul, and wife Dana Terry and many wonderful friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be 11:00 am until 12 Noon, Saturday, May 22nd at North Gaston Church of God, 1310 Dallas Cherryville Highway, Dallas, and the Home Going Celebration of Life Service will follow at 12 Noon with Reverend Andy Nicholson and Reverend Derek Parker officiating.
Interment will follow at Westview Gardens, 1123 Edgewood Road, Bessemer City, NC 28016.
