Floyd "Toad" Andrew Wooten

Floyd “Toad” Andrew Wooten, 80, passed away at his residence on December 19, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Gaston County on October 12, 1942 to the late Johnny and Bessie Lee Wooten. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife is 38 years, Patricia Stafford Wooten; siblings, George, Ora, Maybelle, Albert, Becky, Minnie Sue, and his granddaughter Alesa Marie Wooten.

Toad was a family man that was outgoing and enjoyed helping others. He liked to spend time outdoors, camping, deep sea fishing, riding horses, and going to auctions. He leaves many happy memories that will be cherished by his family and friends. Toad was known as the “Chevyman”. He was in construction all of his life.

Toad is survived by his loving and devoted children, Troy and wife Wanda Wooten, Sheila and husband Michael McGill, Jill and husband Jason Townsend, Ray and wife Melissa Wooten, and Stella and husband Juan Rivera; siblings, Allen and wife Patty Wooten, Harold Starnes, Wendy Wriston and husband Glenn, and Andrew Starnes; and (46 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great grandchildren)

The family will receive friends at Withers and Whisenant Funeral home on Wednesday December 21, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and a Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 22, 2022 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Pastor James Norman Greene officiating.

 Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park with the releasing of the doves.

Pallbearers will be Troy Wooten, Robert Stephenson, Michael McGill, Jr., Doug McGill, Mitchell Huneycutt, Jr., Conner Wooten. Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Glover, Pierce and Isaac Wooten

The family will be at the home of Ray Wooten
