Frances Mary Mazur

Frances (Franny) Winiarski Mazur, 89, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024 at Covenant Village, Gastonia, NC. She was born in 1934 in Buffalo, NY and resided in Buffalo until 2018.

Franny was married to Walter Mazur for 57 years before his passing in 2015. Franny is preceded in death by her parents, and nine siblings. She is survived by her youngest sister Theresa Smalley of Gastonia, NC as well as many nieces and nephews.

Franny was a long-time member of St. Valentines Catholic Church where she was married and remained an active member until its closing in 2007. Franny enjoyed singing in the choir, gardening, and various volunteer roles. She was a dedicated homemaker who kept a meticulous house and cookies on hand when family or friends came to visit. Franny’s large extended family has fond memories of rambunctious card games and fun gatherings at her house. Franny was an especially kind, sweet, and humble person. She was a devout Catholic.

A funeral Mass will be held in Buffalo, NY on May 17, 2024, and internment at St. Matthews Cemetery, West Seneca, NY with more specific details to follow.
