Frankie Lee Queen

Frankie Lee Queen, 73, of Belmont, passed away peacefully at her residence on May 19, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. 


She was born Mecklenburg County to the late Everette and Estelle Phillips. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, James Holbrook and Mitchell “Randy” Holbrook; and her brother-in-law, Joe Correll.


Frankie was a graduate of Gaston College where she earned an associate degree in accounting. She enjoyed crafting of all kinds, sewing, quilting, crocheting, needle point, you name it and she’d master it. Most of all, Frankie loved to spend time cracking jokes and making memories with her beloved family and friends. 


She is survived by her son, George Holbrook (Dawn Bennett); sisters, JoAnn Correll and Regina Harris; grandchildren, Frankie Lynn Holbrook, Kermit Bramwell (Raven), Shay Stillwell; Christina Barnes, and Rachel Winck (Josh), and Austin Correll; 16 great-grandchildren; niece, Claudia Moore (Carl Lee), Barbara Correll; and her nephew, Billy Correll. 


Family and friends will gather from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2024 for a Confederate Memorial Service at the Gastonia VFW Hall, 3250 W. Franklin Blvd. Gastonia, NC 28052, with Pastor Creighton Lovelace officiating. Following the service a covered dish meal will be at 1145 McKee Farm Lane, Belmont, NC 28012.
