Frankie Poole Woods

Frankie Poole Woods, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 5th, 2023 in Gaston County, NC at the age of 80. She was born on June 18th 1942 to the late Frank Poole and Rushie Belle Birchfield Poole.

Frankie was a proud employee of AMP Inc for 20 years and dedicated her life to the service of others. Her kind-hearted disposition made her an instant favorite among everyone she met. Her warm smile and loving personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Frankie enjoyed cooking, making candy, traveling and spending time with her family. She could often be seen playing with her nieces and nephews which always brought smiles to their faces and memories they'll cherish forever.

She was preceded in death by her childrenRandall Woods and Caroline Martin; granddaughter Amanda Gibson Schatz; as well as her siblings Wayburn, Nettie, Don, Glen, Dean, George, Bonnie and Rita.

Frankie is survived by her daughter Pamela Drum and son Jerry Woods Jr. (Ky Johnson);  brothers Doug Poole (Sharon), Terry Poole (Carolyn), sisters Barbara Poole and Clara Hayes; as well as many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all miss her dearly.

The visitation for Frankie will be held on May 10th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation located at 2916 Union Road in Gastonia NC followed by a Celebration of Life service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

Frankie lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by loved ones who will always cherish her memory. Her passing leaves behind immeasurable sadness among friends and family but they take comfort in knowing she is now resting peacefully.
