Gastonia – Fredrick "Rick" Olen Weaver, II, 55, passed away on August 9, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was a native of Gaston County, born on January 9, 1966 to Cherrie and Fredrick Olen Weaver Sr. Rick was preceded in death by his son, Fredrick Olen Weaver III and his grandparents, Bonnie Haskins and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cook.
Rick was a graduate of Hunter Huss High School and Belmont Abbey College. He worked in Banking Industry throughout his career; before retiring from Fidelity Bank. Rick was a member of City Church. He loved the beach and taking Lincoln fishing and playing with his black lab, Leo. He was a "hands on" daddy to his children and loved them unconditionally. Rick was a friend to all and helped those in need. He was a wonderful son, father and friend who will be sorely missed!
Left to cherish his memories includes his sons, David Weaver and Lincoln Weaver; daughter, Jewel Weaver, his parents, Cherrie and Fredrick Weaver, Sr.; brother, Ben (Scarlett) Weaver and nephews, Gabriel and Lucas; and numerous friends he considered family.
A Celebration of Life service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, August 13th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Gillming officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:45p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will follow service at Evergreen Cemetery "A Quiet Place" in Belmont, NC with the Releasing of the Doves.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Haskins, Dale Haskins, Bill Will, Tony Edwards, Scott Edwards, Jay Falls and Jose Baez.
