Gastonia – James Gary 'Pops" Ledford, Jr., 51 passed away February 20, 2022, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Gaston County on March 5, 1970, to Sherry Martina Swink King and the late James Gary Ledford, Sr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Leo Thor Ledford, his wife Beth Ledford.
Pops enjoyed fishing and was a fan of all sports. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching football. He coached Pop Warner football. He also enjoyed dirt track racing cars. Gary worked as a welder most of his life.
Left to cherish Gary's memories is his loving mother, Sherry King; his sons, James Gary Ledford, III and Dylan Christopher Ledford; Grandchildren, Gloria Ledford and Damon Ledford; nieces Jessie and Tiffany Lanier.
The family will receive friends on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Withers and Whisenant Chapel. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
