Listen to Obituary

George Gordon Stauch passed away peacefully at home on October 22, 2026, at the age of 85. He was born in Wyandotte, Michigan, on January 4, 1941, to George Elmer and Marie Josephine (née Hope) Stauch.

George retired in 2002 as vice president of sales at Anchor Lamina, based in Farmington Hills, Michigan. For many years after his retirement, he continued to speak fondly of his career and colleagues. In 2010, he relocated to Gastonia, North Carolina, where he was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He attended Mass weekly until his Alzheimer’s disease progressed.

George is survived by his sister, Phyllis Webb (Jim); his sons, Eric Folsom (Tammy) and Mark Stauch (Brenda); his daughters, Georgina Dubisky (Gary) and Cheryl Phillips (Steve); and his grandchildren, Samantha, Ethan, Sydney, Ian, Zachary, Gordon, Alicia, and Ryan, as well as many nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Everett; and his infant son, George.

We would like to offer a special thanks to our friend, Lisa Hardy. Her patience, kindness, and willingness to help George and our family will never be forgotten.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place at Michigan Memorial Cemetery in Flat Rock, Michigan.
