Georgia Friday Mullinax

Georgia Friday Mullinax, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, North Carolina. Born on November 8, 1945, in Albany, Georgia to the late Edgar Franklin Friday, Jr and Margaret Barnes Friday. Georgia lived a life filled with love and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Steve Mullinax, and a brother Ed Friday.

A woman of many talents and accomplishments, Georgia's most cherished role was that of a dedicated family woman. She married her husband Steve Mullinax on May 24, 1974, and together they established S and G Furniture. Their bond was unbreakable and their partnership both personally and professionally was an inspiration to all who knew them.

Georgia's devotion to her family was unmatched. Her daughters, Cathy Crowder (Rick) and Sarah Evans (William), were the pride of her life. It was through them that she found immense joy and fulfillment. She reveled in the precious moments spent with her grandchildren Landon Wood (Josh), Liam Evans, and Saylor Evans. Their presence brought a twinkle to her eyes and warmth to her heart. She adored her great-grandchildren Hayden and Henson Wood.

Aside from her unwavering love for her family, Georgia had a zest for life that was contagious. In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending days at the lake and attending horse shows. Shopping excursions with her girls were treasured moments that created lasting memories. In her younger years, Georgia loved to dance and embraced the freedom of movement with grace and finesse.

Georgia's caring nature extended beyond her immediate family. She touched the lives of those around her in profound ways. Her friends knew they could always count on her for support and kind words. She had a compassionate heart that welcomed everyone into her life with open arms.

As a graduate of Dallas High School in 1962, Georgia valued education as a gateway to personal growth. She recognized the importance of knowledge and encouraged her loved ones to pursue their dreams. She worked as Manager at Elaine Powers Figure Salon, Lady Kady salon and Cosmopolitan Spa, before S and G Furniture.
