Gastonia – Gregory "Greg" Wayne Davis, 50, passed away on January 17, 2022, in Greenville, SC. Greg was born in Gaston County on May 2, 1971.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Doricia "Dee" Ann Champion Davis.

Greg was a proud graduate of Appalachian State University where he earned a degree in Anthropology. His love for the outdoors only grew as he grew into his adult years. As a child, he always loved walking in the woods and exploring. Greg was great on computers he worked as a computer analyst. He loved playing games on the computer as well. Greg was very involved in comics his favorite was the Marvel & Avengers. He participated in Comic-Con every year since 2010.

Survivors include his father, C. Joe Davis, and Joe's loving significant other, Sarah Ellis; his sister, Jodie Davis and her husband, Bill Huxholdt of Boone, NC; his niece, Willow and John Portela; Dear Family, Jim and Cathy Broome; David and Hannah Abbott; Steve and Ruth Abbott; Sheri and Bob Tonkovic of Chicago; Eric Gavaletz of California; Jennifer "Jenni" Gavaletz of Gastonia; Chris and Janece Gavaletz of Fayetteville, NC; Renae Abbott of Chicago; Donnie and Karen DeHart of Danville, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia, NC 28054 with Reverend Ronnie Bowers officiating.
