Dallas – Harold Louie Cloninger, 86, passed away on November 1, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Gaston County on April 24, 1935, to the late Wilbert and May Cloninger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma Kinley.
Harold was a very involved and active member of Antioch Lutheran Church. He volunteered and led their church team in construction projects at Lutheridge. Harold also served in building many Habitat Houses throughout the years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Mr. Cloninger is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Nancy Lewis Cloninger;
children, Jeffrey (Julie) Cloninger; Todd Cloninger, Vicki (Alfred) Bless, and Patti Cloninger; five grandchildren, Jacob (Lauren) Cloninger, Jaclyn (Jacob) Rhyne; Jason Lewis Cloninger (Jessica Smith); Athena Bless, and Alex (Courtney) Bless; and two great-grandchildren, Nolan Rhyne and Madelyn Rhyne.
Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 5th at Antioch Lutheran Church Garden of Peace, 330 Old NC 277 Loop Road, Dallas, NC with Reverend George Rhyne officiating. Due to Covid, the family respectfully requests that masks be worn.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Bless, Alex Bless, Jacob Cloninger, Jason Cloninger, Jacob Rhyne and Joseph Wagoner.
