Helena May Roer

Helena May Roer, 86, of Dallas, NC, passed away on May 25, 2024 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.  

She was born in Long Island, New York, on May 29, 1937, to the late Joseph Anthony and Mary Bellofatto Berlangiero. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Henry Roer; brother, Joseph Berlangiero; and her sister, Barbara Kaiser. 

Helena was a member of Saint Michaels Catholic Church in Gastonia. She retired as a school teacher from Maricopa County, Arizona. Helena was very active with the Senior Center in Dallas. She loved to travel on cruise ships, especially to Alaska. She also enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. 

She is survived by her son, Michael Roer (Patricia), her daughters Marie Burleson and Susan Disch; and many grandchildren. 

Family and friends will gather from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Deacon Bill Melton officiating.
