Dallas – Howard Ellis Wilson, 82, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2022, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.
He was born in Gaston County on September 29, 1939, to Rosie Cloninger. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Jonathan David Wilson.
He retired from Public Service/Dominion Energy with over 40 years of dedicated services. Howard served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Howard was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge. Howard was an avid golfer and was a fan of all sports.
Left to cherish Howard's memories is his children, Scott and wife Deborah Wilson, Curtis and wife Lynne Wilson, and Hope Wilson; his grandchildren, Crystal Wilson, Joshua, and Joseph Wright; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Phoenix, Samuel, Noah, and Jackson and too many friends to mention.
The family will receive friends on Friday February 25th, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 Noon at Salem Baptist Church, 1534 Rolling Meadow Lane, Gastonia, NC 28054.
A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12 Noon, Friday, at Salem Baptist Church with Reverend Junior Morris officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Cemetery with Military Honors.
