Hubert Neal Griffin

Hubert Neal Griffin, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with his family by his side.

He was born in Rowan County, North Carolina on September 19, 1934 and is the son of the late Ernest and Nellie Sullivan Griffin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas and Everett Griffin and a sister, Louise Fritts.

He was a member of Maylo United Methodist Church, where he was very active in singing in the choir and taught Sunday school for over 38 years. Hubert was past president of Methodist Men and was Man of the year. He faithfully read his Bible every day. Hubert had over 38 years of dedicated years at the Gaston Gazette. He also ran a H-G Press printing service for many years. His granddaughter would often help him with the printing. He enjoyed fishing and gardening with his family. He was a Family Man. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Hubert is survived by his devoted wife of over 65 years, Clara Faggart Griffin; his daughters, Linda and Kelly Griffin; his loving granddaughter, Andrea and husband Stephen Ledbetter; a sister, Pauline Reynolds, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. The Celebration of Life service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 13th at Maylo United Methodist Church with Reverend Dwight Cartner officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park, Mark section.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Ledbetter, Stephen Ledbetter, John McDonald, Brad Rankin, Second Trimnal, and Mac Grice.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maylo United Methodist Church, 1900 Spencer Mountain Road, Gastonia, NC  28054.
