Ira "Tommy" Thomas Bland

Ira “Tommy” Thomas Bland, 76, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.  Tommy was born in Wilmington, North Carolina and is the son of the late Theodore C. Bland and Mary Jane Waters Bland.

Tommy was a graduate of Rose Hill High School, Teachey, North Carolina and East Carolina University .  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf at Glen Oaks Golf Club in Maiden.  Tommy was a General Contractor with Bland Construction Company building Multi-Family homes.  As a General Contractor, he loved to travel and would drive several hours to spend 30 minutes checking on projects.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Teresa Hambright Bland; his son and wife, Travis Bland (Tara) of Hickory, NC; two daughters and their husbands, Spring Walsh (Eric) of Kernersville, NC, Trellis Lasley (Rick) of Ruffin, NC; one brother and his wife, Doug Bland (Cherry) of Carolina Beach, NC; one sister and her husband, Ciscelia Greer (Bob) of Garner, NC; several grandchildren and niece and nephews; and his much loved Dog  “Callie”.

Any service will be at a later date.
