Jack Hunter Beaty, Jr. passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on November 4, 2026. He was born in Gastonia, NC, on March 2, 1952, the son of the late Jack Hunter Beaty, Sr. and Joan Elizabeth Groner Beaty.

Jack was a member of Sandy Plains Baptist Church. A dedicated and hardworking man, he took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. He spent 28 years in the mobile home industry, where he served as a District Manager of Sales, and also served on the Board of Directors for the Manufactured Housing Institute of South Carolina. Earlier in life, he was a Gastonia merchant, working alongside his family in the ownership and operation of convenience and sporting goods stores in Gastonia, Charlotte, and Lake Wylie.

Outside of work, Jack enjoyed scuba diving and golf. As he gradually lost his vision, his interests shifted, but his curiosity and love of learning never faded. He devoted more of his time to studying and discussing the Bible, enjoying thoughtful conversations about faith and life. He also enjoyed politics, vegetable gardening, and listening to and playing the violin.

Of all the roles Jack held throughout his life, his favorite was that of grandfather. His grandchildren were especially precious to him, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. One of his greatest joys was studying the Bible with his grandchildren, sharing his faith and knowledge with them, and creating memories they will carry with them for years to come.

Jack was also a proud patriot who deeply loved his country and the Constitution.

Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna Wyatt Beaty; daughter, Sally Beaty Bolt (Brian); grandchildren, Jack Wyatt Lowdermilk, Owen Archer Lowdermilk, Joshua Walter Bolt, and Finley Katherine Bolt; sisters, Mary Anne Jefferies (Tom), and Elizabeth Annette Culbertson (Randy); and beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, William Loyd and Annie Ethel Lovelace Beaty and George Lee and Margaret Ina Freize Groner; and brother, Anthony Lee Beaty.

A graveside service will be held at Sandy Plains Baptist Church at 2:30 pm on Saturday, the 7th of November, officiated by Pastor Chris Howell. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center at the church. Interment will be in the Sandy Plains Baptist Church cemetery.
