Jack Edward King

Jack Edward King, 84, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2024, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. 

 He was born in Monroe, Tennessee to the late Luther and Mary King. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years, Ruby Hudson King. 

 Jack was a faithful man who loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Ruby, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Jack will be remembered as a kind and generous man who was friendly to everyone he met. 

 He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Scott Grier and Lisa G. Upton; grandchildren, Devin, Cameron, and Hanna (J.C. Walkowiak); and his great-granddaughter, Willow.

 Family and friends will gather from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Dale Lawing officiating. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife.
