James Robert Barnes

James Robert Barnes, Jr., 69, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Gaston County, North Carolina, on October 17, 1955 to the late James Robert Barnes, Sr. and Joan Chaney Barnes.

James enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and was an NRA Ambassador. He had a great and memorable sense of humor and loved to kid and have fun with everyone. James loved his family, especially playing with his grandchildren. He leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who new and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Lynn Barnes; children, Trey Barnes (Melissa) and Amanda B. Jerrell (Rickey); brothers, Eric Barnes (Tanya), Rick Barnes (Tammy), Jeff Barnes (Kim); and his grandchildren, Emerson, Fordham, and Levi; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and announced at a later date.
