Gastonia – James Danny Caldwell, 69, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Gaston County on December 25, 1951 to the late James Carmen Caldwell and Betty Abernathy Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Murrial Jones and Darrell Caldwell.
Danny worked for almost 25 years at the Harris Teeter Distributing Center; and later worked and retired from Public Service with over 25 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed gardening and being outside; Danny also enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandkids.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Melody Jordan Caldwell; his children, Shelly (Tim) Grigg, Jamie (Farrah) Caldwell; grandchildren, Justin (JoJo) Grigg, Hannah Grigg, Savannah Caldwell, Carmen Caldwell and Dylan Caldwell; his siblings, Timmy (Dale Ann) Caldwell, Cindy (Mike) Cook, Rhonda (Gary) Withers and Sherry Caldwell; brother-in-law, Dale Jones and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 12th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend James Holeman and Pastor John D. Mayberry officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
