Stanley - James "Jim" Edward Fisher, 68, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.

He was born on August 31, 1953. He was the son of the late Edward and Katie VanDyke Fisher, in addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Rachel Fisher; his sister, Karen Hawkins and his brother, Johnny Fisher.

Mr. Fisher was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a wonderful loving man who was adored and respected by many. Many referred to him as "Papa Jim", he will be greatly missed.

Mr. Fisher is survived by his loving daughter, Nikki Mullis and husband Wes; two loving sons, Jeffrey Fisher and girlfriend, Rosa Roberts, Robert Fisher, and wife Amy; brother, Frank Fisher and wife Carolyn; 7 grandchildren, whom he adored, Blaine, Garrett, Josh, Andrew, Casey, Griffin, Memphis; 5 precious great-grandchildren, Everett, Magnolia, Brayden, Blaise, Ava.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at New Life Baptist Church, 201 Oak Trail, Belmont, North Carolina with a Celebration of Life Graveside Service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery, 1508 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, Mt. Holly, North Carolina with Rev. Allen Foreman and Rev. Richard Smith officiating, with Military Honors provided by the United States Air Force and the Gaston County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to: New Life Baptist Church, 201 Oak Trail, Belmont, North Carolina 28012.
