Gastonia--James "Jim" Everette Ford, Sr., 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan 22, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Greece, New York on May 3, 1928 to the late Andrew and Minetta Snyder Ford.
Jim was a truck driver for Akers Motor Lines for many years and later served as the Safety Director for Quality Exchange. He was a volunteer firefighter for the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department.
He had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful storyteller. Jim never met a stranger and was always upbeat and happy. One thing he truly enjoyed doing was buying and selling cars–he probably owned almost every kind of car in his lifetime!
