Gastonia – James George Parthenakis, 81, passed away on January 23, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Cincinnati Ohio on July 13, 1939 to the late George and Zafira Parthenakis. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Thomas Parthenakis.
James was retired after 28 years with the FDIC in banking and was retired from the Army reserve.
Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 51 years, Anthoula "Anthe" Parthenakis; sons, George and wife Saysouda Parthenakis of Nashville TN, and Peter Parthenakis; daughter, Maria and husband Doug Hartemann of Belmont NC; brother, Nicholas and wife Angie of Cincinnati OH; sister-in-law, Cathy Parthenakis of Erie PA; grandchildren, Jacob Hartemann, Sophia Hartemann, and Maneeda Parthenakis.
Services will be held Thursday January 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Assumption Holy Orthodox Church (Karyae Park) 4221 Linwood Church Road Gastonia North Carolina. Burial will follow at Evergreen "A Quiet Place" Cemetery in Belmont North Carolina.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, if you feel the need to stay home, a card or phone call to the family will be appreciated.
