Janette Leatherwood Laws

Janette Leatherwood Laws, 91, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025 at her residence at Brookdale Village in Gastonia.

She was born in Hartford, Tennessee, on October 27, 1933 to the late William and Cenie Leatherwood. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Elmo Leatherwood, Y.J. Leatherwood, Hubert Leatherwood, Olan Leatherwood, John Leatherwood, and Vick Leatherwood.

Janette lived a simple life of spending time with her family and going to church. She was a devout Christian and dedicated member of Christ Church in Gastonia. After many years of service, she retired from Pharr Yarns. Jeanette loved her family most of all and gardening. Those who knew and loved her will cherish the memories they had with her.

She is survived by her sister, Dorcas Laws; nephews, Roger Laws (Judy), Jerry Laws (Patsy), Gary Laws (Dawn), Ronald Laws (Kathy), Terry Leatherwood, Robbie Leatherwood (Suzie), and Michael Leatherwood; nieces, Renee Holste and Connie; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.

Services will be private.
